Formatting a list of images

This user guides relates to any Smart List of Images added to your writing project.

 

1. Click Styles on the Dashboard

2. A new window opens up

3. Select the Style you would like to edit by clicking on the title

4. A new window opens up and shows several Style tabs. Click on the Smart List tab

6. A new window opens up showing all the sections collapsed. Select the List of Images

7. There are three parts: the Settings, the Image description and the Page number

  • the data fields for the image description are: {Caption}, {ImageNumber}, {Image RunningTitle}

8. In the settings, select the images that you would like to include in your listing: cover, preliminaries, body, addenda

9. To create a template for Image description or Page number click on the object to add any text you require before the data fields (e.g., a bracket), between the data fields (e.g., a colon, a dash or comma), or after the data fields (e.g., a full stop or bracket)

10. Next, highlight the text you wish to format and use the formatting tools in the side menu (e..g., font, size, line spacing, bold, italics, underline and alignment)

11. To save your changes, click the Save Changes button on the top. Note that you cannot save changes to a Public Style. To do that you will need to click Save as new style and give it your different name

Tips

  1. To preview your formatted List of Images, export your project using the Style you have just changed or saved, making sure you have inserted a smart list of images
  2. To change the Style you are using for a specific project, return to the Dashboard and edit the Project Settings
