Formatting cross-references

1. Click Styles on the Dashboard

2. A new window opens up

3. Select the Style you would like to edit by clicking on the title

4. A new window opens up and shows several Style tabs. Click on the References tab

5. Open the Cross-reference section. There are two parts: the Cross-reference and the Page format

6. To create a template for either part, click on the object to add any text you require before the data fields (e.g., a bracket), between the data fields (e.g., a colon, a dash or comma), or after the data fields (e.g., a full stop or bracket)

7. Then, highlight the text you wish to format and use the formatting tools in the side menu (e..g., font, size, line spacing, bold, italics, underline and alignment)

8. To save your changes, click the Save Changes button on the top. Note that you cannot save changes to a Public Style. To do that you will need to click Save as new style and give it your different name

  1. To preview your formatted cross-reference, export your project using the Style you have just changed or saved, making sure you have inserted a cross-reference first
  2. To change the Style you are using for a specific project, return to the Dashboard and edit the Project Settings
