Adding and editing images

1. On the Dashboard, click on the Project Name for the project you want to edit


2. The writing editor will open in a new window


3. Highlight the writing object that you want the image to appear immediately after (e.g., a paragraph)


 4. Open the Add menu and select Image


5. A template image will be added to your writing outline


6. Click on the template Image and a dialogue box appears. Select the Choose Image button


7. A new window will open showing all the image stored in resources. Select the image you want to add


8. A Customise Image window appears. The Running Title for Caption and Title (optional) will be pre-loaded from data that was added when you added the image to Resources. Change these if you require, and select the size you would like for the image. Click Update and the image thumbnail will be added to the writing outline 


9. To Edit the Image, click on the image  to see the size, caption and title you have added. You can also add a legend for the image by clicking the Add legend button


10. Add Legend opens a new window, where you can add a commentary to appear with the image (just like adding a footnote). You can also click Add Reference to include a reference in your legend

11. All changes will be saved automatically, however, you can manually save by clicking the disk icon



  1. When an image is inserted, the caption label is based on the resource format (i.e., how you added the resource; e.g. Figure, Table, Exhibit). Click on the image to reveal the label
  2. Image size: small is equivalent to 1/3 the width of a page, medium is half the width of a page, the large is the full width of a page. The height is based on the proportions for the actual image and your size selection
