Citation prefix

When you insert a reference to a resource, you often need to annotate what the reference is about by adding some preliminary text. The preliminary text is called a citation prefix. Some examples are:

  • see (ref)
  • as cited in (ref)
  • refer (ref)

Tips

1. When you add a citation prefix, ensure that there is a space after any text, otherwise it will flow into the reference like this seeSmith
