The Preliminaries is a Writing Template and includes all those items that precede the main body of a document (located at the front); for example, a dedication, acknowledgements, abstract, preface or executive summary, table of contents, list of figures/tables, list of abbreviations.

1. The body word count excludes items in the preliminaries

2. Preliminaries are often referred to as front matter, because it includes items that are in the front of the main writing (body)

I picked up your pamphlets at Cebit and am now trying to write. The program looks great and the concept is excellent. I'm using a Mac which might be part of the problem. But can't seem to write anything other than change the title or insert urls etc into the Preliminary. The body is okay - comes up with a section I can type in, but not in PRelimary. Could you please check?

    Hello Silma,

My apologies for not replying earlier. Using a Mac should not be a problem. In the preliminaries you should be able to Add Headings, Paragraphs, Quotes, Lists, SmartLists etc. Please let me know if you are still having problems. Best to email
